Glossary

For a quick reference, here are a list of common terms and phrases regarding the stories of the Omnyverse. Some of these terms may seem conflicting; mortals know very little about the Omnymphotents, and the Omnys do little to quell misinformation about themselves. As such, some terms known among mortals may be misleading, and there are some aspects to the setting that only the Omnys are aware of.

Ascension – The moment when a mortal woman becomes an Omnymphotent. No one knows precisely how or why this happens, although it does appear to be a recent phenomenon. All Omnys claim to simply go to sleep one night as a mortal and wake up as an Omny.

Created – A being created by an Omnymphotent. As most Playthings use the term, this refers to those entities created independent of a relation to one of the Omny’s Worlds; more specifically, the term refers to those Created who are allowed to continue their existence once their initial purpose is fulfilled.

Empowered – Humans blessed with superhuman abilities by the Omnymphotents, beyond the enhanced health that Omnys give their mortal lovers. Virtually all Empowered are women with high libidos; Empowered men are not completely unheard of, but are extremely rare.

The Etiquette – A standard of behavior to which all Omnys are expected to adhere in order to maintain stability across the Omnyverse. The rules are simple, but any Omny caught breaking them will suffer severe consequences from her peers. The Etiquette essentials down to the following: 1) Maintain the status quo of a mundane Earth, making only small and non-lasting changes, and keeping activities hidden. 2) Respect Thrae as a neutral ground and maintain it's stability. 3) Do not interfere with another Omny's Worlds or Games, except where invited or in dire emergencies.

The Five – Although there are multiple Omnymphotents, the Five are Omnys of particular significance. They are tasked with overseeing the stability of the Omnyverse, protecting it from exterior threats, and wielding authority over Omnys who violate the Etiquette. The exact roster of the Five changes over time; positions are filled in rotation, and other Omnys may be temporarily deputized as needed.

Grandymphotent – Sometimes shortened to Grand. A special type of Empowered who can casually warp reality like an Omnymphotent, but whose powers are under considerable restrictions by comparison. These restrictions may only allow the powers to be active under specific circumstances, may be greatly limited by scale, and/or be limited to a finite amount of usage within a certain time frame. Grands likewise cannot make lasting changes to reality that persist when their own powers cool down; unlike Omnys, they cannot create self-persisting Empowerments, Created, or Worlds, and some cannot even perform those actions at all.

Lust Aura – A natural attribute of any Omnymphotent. Just being near an Omny turbo-charges a human’s arousal, unless she makes a point to tamp down the effect. When two or more Omnys are together in close proximity, their Lust Auras will resonate, and be more difficult to suppress. For this reason, Omnys rarely group together in the presence of mortals.

Masquerade – A global spell of slight probability and minor memory manipulation that prevents the antics of Omnyphotents and Empowered from being discovered by the unaware masses of Earth.

The Meta – The Omnys are aware of their status as fictional characters in a fictional universe. At times, they may openly refer “the Meta”, which refers to stories and events outside of canon, broader concepts of narrative, and their relationship to their Author.

Mingles – The technique of Mingling allows Omnys to create “fusion-daughters” by merging duplicates of themselves together. Should such a daughter choose to persist, she will eventually stabilize into her own independent being, becoming a unique Omny unto herself. In this way, Mingling is a form of “sexual” reproduction for the Omnys. While Mingles are as powerful as any other Omny, their respective “parents” are usually capable of overriding their powers.

Mingling – Mingling is the act of two or more Omnys merging themselves together to create a new gestalt entity. This is usually done temporarily for boosts in power, or to share intimacy beyond mere sex. However, this technique is one method for Omnys to reproduce, by Mingling duplicates of themselves to create “fusion-daughters.”

The Old World – Similar to the Meta, the Old World is something only the Omnymphotents are aware of, though only a handful of Omnys actually lived through it. The Old World was a tangle of half-formed continuities consisting of the Author’s original plans and various revisions for the Omnymphotents series. The Old World was wiped out when the Omnys broke through the Meta to take control of their storyline and reset the Omnyverse into its present form. As such the Old World has no direct effect on the Omnyverse, but a few of the Omnys still remember it.

Omnymphotent – A portmanteau of “omnipotent” and “nympho(maniac)”. Often shortened to “Omny.” An Omny is a human woman who has obtained functionally omnipotent powers, able to instantly warp reality on a vast scale, and allow those changes to persist without her oversight. While perhaps not literally the most powerful entities in a given universe, they are far beyond most beings in the known multiverse. Along with their vast powers, Omnys also inherit an insatiable libido, craving sex almost constantly in the beginning. These desires do eventually cool down some over time, but their libidos remain high for the rest of their immortal lives. Despite all their powers, they are incapable of fully suppressing their sex drives long term, and can only be so contented with making love to each other. For this reason, the Omnys seek out humanity to engage in erotic games and frequent superhuman acts of sex.

Omny Avatar – A duplicate body an Omny might make for themselves to better interact with mortals on their own level. An Avatar is technically mortal, in that it can die and is not nearly as powerful as the Omny, but the mind of the Avatar is the same as the Omny herself, the body being directly “piloted” by her. Avatars can range from having no supernatural powers at all, to having a wide variety of Empowerments, depending on what she wants to use the Avatar for. In this way, an Omny can better appreciate mortal experiences, and not be so overwhelming for the mortals they interact with, or the situations they find themselves in. When the Avatar’s purpose is fulfilled, she will rejoin with her main self. Despite the difference in experiences, Avatars are distinct from Splinters, in that they do not tend to fission off into fully Ascended new beings; in the few cases where an Avatar does wish to continue being their own self, they remain a Created.

Omnyverse – The blanket term for the miniature multiverse the Omnys have created, which holds Earth, Thrae, and all the Omny Worlds. Not to be confused with the literal omniverse (the sum total of all realities), and does not include universes the Omnys can access, but don’t bother making use of.

Omny World – A world created by an Omnymphotent. These take the form of pocket dimensions holding fantastical landscapes and societies that fall in line with a given Omny’s aesthetic tastes, genre preference, erotic kinks, and creative ideas. They are basically the Omny’s own original fictional worlds, made into reality by their powers. Every Omny has at least one World of their own, if not several; however, they these worlds are all separated from each other, and from Earth, by dimensional barriers. Omny Worlds can only be accessed through special gateways perceivable and usable only by those chosen by the Omnys.

The One – The theoretical “one true Omnymphotent” that all Omnys are simply facets and offshoots of. As the theory goes, even if more than one Omny really exists as separate entities individually empowered, then the One is the theoretical original Omny who empowered the others. Ostensibly, the One is the main deity worshipped by Yonicists.

Phallimagery – A sexually-focused supernatural power system that Omnys have experimented with on their various Worlds, and spread to some of the women on Earth. This power gives women direct psychic control over men’s genitals and libidos, and the ability to read their erotic thoughts and memories. The power can be spread to other women via group sex rituals.

Plaything – A mortal partner of an Omnymphotent. The term is used affectionately by the Omnys, and bit self-deprecatingly by the mortals themselves.

PlayWeb – A network of websites, forums, and chatrooms that can only be accessed by Playthings.

Realplay – A type of extended roleplaying game in which an Omny will create a simulation, then temporarily edit the memories of those who wish to participate to become fully immersed in the role. Realplay can involve harrowing and stressful situations, but once finished, the Realplayers are restored completely to normal, as if waking from a particularly vivid dream. This is one way in which Omnys and their Playthings can enjoy the thrills of danger and conflict, without the risk of actually ruining their lives, suffering permanent trauma, or victimizing innocents.

Splinter – The technique of Splintering enables an Omny to create a fully independent second self, usually operating under a different identity. If the duplicate chooses to persist, rather than merge back into her originator, then over time, differing experiences cause enough personality drift that the duplicate becomes a unique Omny unto herself. While they are more “little sisters” than daughters, Splintering is effectively an asexual “budding” method of Omny reproduction. Splinters are as powerful as any other Omny, but their “big sister” is usually able to override their powers.

Splintering – The phenomenon of an Omny undergoing a fission event that splits her into two or more different entities. This usually occurs when an Omny temporarily takes on a different form and identity, and decides she enjoys it enough that she wants to keep using it, but she also wishes to return to her original form. However certain other drastic circumstances may force a Splintering as well. In either case, the Omny duplicates herself, with each version taking one of the preferred forms, and they may either go their separate ways, or eventually merge back together if their differing desires are mitigated.

Thrae – Thrae (pronounced thray) is a sort of “mirror realm” of Earth, shared by all the Omnys as a neutral territory. It acts as a sort of border world between Earth and the various Omny Worlds, and fragments of the Omny Worlds are blended in with landmasses and infrastructure from Earth. Essentially, Thrae is Earth if the Masquerade didn’t exist. Here, Omnys and Empowered operate openly among a human population that co-exists with fantastical beings in alternate versions of Earth’s nations.

Transformed – Those humans who have been turned into living objects or animals, or have been shrunken down to tiny size. More specifically, those who have been left stuck in such a state. Transformed are usually fully aware of their circumstances and have a full array of sensory input, even if they have been turned into an inanimate object.

Yonicism – A religious practice developing among some of the Playthings, somewhat to the Omnys’ chagrin. Initially an online meme with farcical terminology (practitioners worship the One as “The Supreme Vagina”, posit that Omnys are merely “extensions of Her Divine Nether Lips”, and claim that the world will one day be saved by “The Glorious Enveloping”). However, some Playthings perform some of the rituals and prayers in a sincere act of worship of their Omny.

Yonimagery – The female equivalent to Phallimagery. A Phallimagus gains this power over any woman she spreads Phallimancy to, and any woman her protégé spreads the power to.
