Lore: The Created

THE GIFT OF LIFE
Of all the many abilities an Omnymphotent possesses, one of the most notable is their ability to create living beings. With a thought, they are able to manifest into existence fully formed, fully developed, free-willed, living people.

In many cases, Omnys will create beings on the fly in order to fulfill a sexual fantasy or roleplaying situation, or to have them perform special tasks and duties as needed. However, many such beings are usually erased after their purpose is served. This is not the case for all such beings, however. Some develop enough sense of self-awareness and self-direction to desire a continued existence once their duty is fulfilled. Some the Omny simply finds too charming or interesting to just erase. Some are allowed to remain with a Plaything as a special favor.

Such artificial beings granted true life are known as the Created. Technically, this term could apply to the millions of beings and creatures made to inhabit the Worlds of the Omnys, but among Playthings, the term tends to refer to the independent sapient beings whom live on Earth or Thrae, mingling with mortal society.

MYRIAD MANIFESTATIONS
Physically, the Created can appear as anything, but most labeled with the term tend to be humans or humanoids. Some are able to transform from an object or another creature into a human, others appear as humans with animalistic features, others as humans with elemental properties. Regardless of their form, they are designed to be able to have sex with humans, and so even the least human looking of them have some means to do so while having some sexual traits pleasing to human sensibilities.

Nevertheless, while the difference is ultimately pedantic, Created can be categorized into several different types.

Dreamed - Dreamed are Created that were formed from nothing, wholly from an Omny's imagination, or the imagination of her lover. Strictly speaking, they are another form of Fictives; the main difference is that they tend to be spontaneously thought up and formed on the spot, rather than being based on a long-term character. As such, Dreamed start off with a basic personality template, but no previous memories.

Fictive - Fictives, sometimes called Story Girls, Ficcers, or other such names, are based on fictional characters, already conceived of and developed by others. Usually this refers to characters from books, movies, video games, etc, but this can also qualify for a person’s RPG character or other OC. Generally they any sort of long-term character concept that has seen enough development that, upon Creation, they already have memories of a past life from those stories and already have their own personality molded by those experiences. Any Fictive that has super powers in a story will usually have those powers upon Creation, albeit if they are too powerful, or their personality too wild, their abilities might be scaled down.

Morph - Morphs, sometimes called Polies (short for Polymorphs), are Created that have been transformed from a pre-existing creature or object. These are further subdivided into Chimera (transformed from animals), Elementals (formed from raw materials, also includes plants), and Golems (manufactured goods like refined metals or toys brought to life). They tend to start with a personality roughly akin to the stereotype of their form, though not always. Animals will have memories of their past experiences, while plants and non-living materials will have a general memory of things that happened around them in a broad sense. Plants and toys will have a stronger memory of past human interactions, however, so a flower girl from someone’s garden will have more memories and stronger personality than a flower girl from the wild.

Native - A Native is any Created who was originally formed to inhabit a specific Omny World. This is the most distinct form of Created, as they serve the purpose of enabling various societies to function in the Worlds. As such, not all Natives are necessarily as sexually-driven as the typical Created. Likewise, most Natives never leave their World, and have lives all their own; it's fully possible to start a relationship with one, but they don’t all exist just to give a Plaything a good time. Natives have a history and memory built retroactively into the Worlds; even if they don't remember specifically what their lives were prior to Creation, they remember what they were supposed to be, and immediately continue their daily routines from that pre-established point. Most Natives are, naturally, referred to by the World they are from (Threaens, Cloth Landers, Atzlazonians, etc.), and are generally not referred to as Created.

Independent Avatars - Avatars are listed here on a technicality, as they are usually not individual Created unto themselves. They are duplicate bodies an Omny may make for themselves as “mortal vessels” with which to better interact with mortals on their level. Given that Avatars are customized for certain situations, their powers can range from having no supernatural abilities at all to being strong Grandymphotents, but usually such Avatars will demonstrate more specialized and specific Empowerments. Normally, when the Avatar’s purpose is fulfilled, she will rejoin with her main self. However, it has occasionally happened that an Omny may decide to continue her Avatar’s existence, and thus allows her to continue on as a Created.

Vicarious Avatars - An "upgrade" to the Avatar system, Vicarious Avatars are effectively fully independent Created with their own identities, however they are also directly bound to their Omny at the existential level. In effect, they are their own person, but they will periodically psychically submit their full experiences to their Omny, enabling a vicarious mortal experience without the Omny having to directly involve themselves an Avatar (and thus always being tempted to break their roleplay and fall back on their greater powers). Vicarious Avatars can run the gamut of powers, but are more often than not exceptionally powerful in their gifts compared to most Empowered or Created. They can also appeal to their Omny in case they find themselves in an unexpectedly catastrophic situation.

POWERS and ABILITIES
A Created will often possess some sort of special supernatural ability, much like the Empowered. This ability will usually be related to their form or the method of their creation. A woman formed from the flames of a fireplace will have pyrokinetic powers. A woman formed from clay may be able to shape-shift. A female character brought to life from a comic book may have that character’s powers.

The Created face the same restrictions and protections as the Empowered do. Their abilities are generally low-level, and the Masquerade effect will cause ordinary people who happen to catch them to look away or misremember what happened. Most Created don’t feel much need to act out anyway, and so aren’t likely to be in a situation where they might be caught.

Bare in mind not all Created are truly super powered. A good number of “normal human” Created exist, and they have no special abilities outside of the usual divine health the Omnys bless most of their partners with. Likewise, while many Worlds may feature supernatural creatures, the people of some worlds may not possess real super powers. Instead, many Worlds host at least one system of magic which the Natives may learn and teach to others, but which may not function outside of the World they were designed for.

CREATED IN SOCIETY
On Earth, extant Created are vastly smaller in number, and it is these entities most often referred to when Earthlings talk of Created. As mentioned, Created are fully formed beings, complete with free will, fully developed intellect, common knowledge, and a fully realized personality, all pre-baked into them. Even if they have not been given a full life of memories to flesh out their minds, the Created are developed enough to function perfectly fine in society. A normal person would not be able to tell a human Created apart from a normal human.

Created have a variety of personality types, just like normal people, but as to be expected of beings created by the Omnymphotents, most retain a high sex drive, even if sex is no longer their primary purpose for being.

Most importantly, though, the Created do not have any sort of existential crisis over their origins. They are perfectly happy knowing they’ve been created by the Omnys for the purpose of sex, and ever happier to be allowed to continue being thereafter. Whether that’s because just knowing their cosmic purpose gives them a comfort normal humans can never know, or whether it’s because the Omnys just didn’t give them the capacity to angst over it, the Created never worry about their existence.

As one might expect of the Omnys, the vast majority of persisting Created are female. Omnys will readily make male beings for their sex sessions, but extremely few continue their existence once their purpose is done. Again, however, this only really applies to Earth. On most other worlds created by the Omnys, there is a healthy balance of male and female created, unless that world very specifically is modeled after a heavy skew towards one gender over the other.

Aside from Native populations, Created are almost always made for the sole purpose of sex with a specific person. The Created may be intended as a living sex toy for an Omny’s favorite lover, or may be intended merely as a companion for a lonely person the Omny has grown fond of. These Created won’t necessarily be chained to these people for life, but are usually made for people who will be good companions for them anyway, and aren’t likely to stray from those relationships.

Otherwise, an Omny may create her own lovers, become sentimentally attached to them, and decided to let them have a full life, setting them up to be able to live comfortably on their own. These are more likely to seek other lovers for themselves, but may be content committing to their Omny.

As such, most Created are not going to pursue other lovers, as they are already attached to someone. Even the “free” Created tend to engage in brief flings at best, although getting into a long-term relationship isn’t unheard of once they’ve decided to settle down.
