As she hovered in the Planar Void, the recently Ascended Kat
pondered what world she should make. The memories of multiple lives tickled at
her subconscious, tempting her with a number of possibilities. Should she make
a simple little town in a bubble, like some of her new colleagues? Should she
construct a whole planet? If the latter, what sort of world would be best? Much
of her fictional canons took place on worlds full of superheroes and
supernatural forces. It might be nostalgic to create a similar such reality.
Except, of course, it wouldn’t really be right of her to
inflict a life of danger on the people of such a world, even if they were all
living figments of her imagination. But she also wasn’t sure making a little
paradise of fluffy kittens and rainbows was really her thing, either.
Ooooh, this was so
frustrating!
Worldbuilding was a lot harder when you had to actually
live with the worlds you built, not just keep them as hazy notions
in your head!
With her frustration came a little tickle of heat in her
core. She was still acclimating to the erotic impulses her Ascension had given
her. She was definitely getting a better handle on it, but the sex drive that
came along with her omnipotence was something else! “Omnymphotence” was
certainly the right word for it! She’d had a three-day long session of
impossible sex with Ben, her beloved Plaything, and despite all his enthusiasm
to serve her, she wasn’t going to use him until he broke. Just because she
could easily think him back to full health and sanity after the fact didn’t
mean she had a right to be cavalier about his safety.
Three days wasn’t enough, though, especially not with her
holding back. It was barely 48 hours since she’d left Ben in his bed, kissing
him goodnight, and already, her pussy was getting hungry for more.
She supposed she could go play with Salamando again, but when
she scanned the Omnyverse for him, she saw he was currently off on some adventure
with Demi and Wyllow. That was a bit of a relief. Despite having settled some
things with the avatar of her creator, both of them felt it probably wasn’t
that good of an idea to see each other very often. There was still an
awkwardness between the two of them that wasn’t easily brushed off, and calling
him so soon after their last meeting, just to use him for some side-booty,
wouldn’t have helped matters.
Kat sighed, and decided to let the thoughts of making worlds
slide for the moment. In the space between realities, she was free to indulge
herself at her leisure. Masturbation had never been as satisfying as sex, but
she would make due; even knowing she would eventually need more lovers, she
wasn’t ready to move on past her two red-heads just yet.
She vanished her clothes off her body, and let her hands
wander. With her left hand, she cupped her left breast, giving it a little
squeeze before tugging at her nipple. With her right, she cupped her right
breast and did the same. Tingles a pleasure unlike anything she’d known as a
mortal traveled through her body, making her shiver. She still wasn’t quite
used to how erotically sensitive she was now. Her flesh thrummed with euphoric
energy, such that her entire being was one erogenous zone!
She continued to play with her breasts, but her pussy
refused to be left out! Her lips moistened rapidly, fluidic desire welling up
around her entrance. Only the lack of gravity kept it from running down her
thighs and rump! Giving in quickly, she reached down towards her sex, without
letting go of her breasts. A second set of arms sprouted from her first,
allowing her to continue her breast play, even as she started rubbing herself!
With her left lower hand, she rubbed her clitoris with a steady circular
motion, while with her lower right hand, she penetrated herself with three
eager fingers.
She let out a gasp and a moan and her hands worked quickly.
She pinched her nipples and twisted them just shy of painfully, even as her
hands sped up on her clit, and she extended her penetrating fingers to rub her
g-spot. Her pleasure and desire rose quickly, but she forced herself not to get
frantic, stretching out her build up until she couldn’t hold it back. She cried
out into the void, head thrown back, mouth agape, eyes squeezed shut, toes
curling, as she came hard!
Once was, of course, barely getting started for an Omny, and
she had all the time in the universe. She slowed her motions, but didn’t stop
them, basking in the brief afterglow even as she already started working
herself to another peak! And right as she started to get back into it, she
opened her eyes half-lidden, to gaze as the iridescent mists of the unreality
around her—
—only to see a purple-eyed, dark skinned girl grinning down
at her.
Kat jerked back, teleporting several feet away and vanishing
her extra arms as she covered herself with an instantly conjured bed sheet. Her
heart was thumping as the girl broke out laughing, floating on her back and
pointing.
“Oh my god! You’re fucking face!” The girl cackled as Kat’s
fair face turned red as a tomato!
Kat had no idea what to say. Once again, she found herself
confronted with the presence of another superhuman, and she was almost frozen
like a deer in headlights. Despite already being an Omnymphotent for a few
subjective months, Kat had yet to meet any of the other Omnys. A few had
“waved” at her across the dimensional veil, but they’d sensed her hesitation,
and had not approached her yet. She had a vague sense who they all were, of
course; Omnymphotence came with the ability to simply know things if she wanted
to, and she’d naturally learned some basic facts about her fellows. But she’d
yet to so much as officially introduce herself.
It seemed her leeway time was over. Shadia, aka Shady, had
come to say hello. She’d have to stop laughing at her first, though. Kat
scowled as Shady kept chuckling. The other girl noticed her expression, and
sobered up, still grinning as she forced herself to quit snickering.
“Sorry, sorry,” Shady said, waving her off. “Cripes, I can’t
remember the last time any of us was able to legitimately sneak up on one
another. But then, you’re about as new as they come!”
Kat cleared her throat and composed herself, morphing the
bedsheet she’d summoned into her usual white tee-shirt and blue jeans. Shady,
she noticed, had a similar get-up, albeit much skimpier: a black tank top and
denim short-shorts. She found her gaze lingering longer than she expected. Her
body still felt hot from her interrupted play; looking at the skimpily dressed
girl only served to make her antsier!
“Sal made me decades before he thought of any of you, so if
you want to get technical, I’ve got seniority.”
Shady smirked. “Okay, Grandma.”
Kat gave her a flat look and crossed her arms. “Are you just
here to laugh at me, or did you want something?”
Shady rolled her eyes and waved her off again. “No, that was
just a bonus. I just got tired of waiting for you to stop being so skittish!”
She held out a hand. “Shady.”
Kat hesitated, giving her a wary look. It would, of course,
figure that the version of her who ended up with omnipotent powers would be the
paradoxically horniest and least extroverted version of herself.
Shady wiggled her hand a bit. “Come on, girl, I’m not gunna
bite. Not until later anyway!” She grinned and winked.
Kat blushed a bit. “Sorry, but I like boys.” Even as she
said it, though, the thought of Shady kneeling between her legs sent a
thrilling shiver down her spine.
Shady sighed and rolled her eyes again. “Gawd, why are you
new girls all such straights?” She pulled her hand back and held it up in a
half-shrug. “Fine, no touchy-feelies for you.”
Suddenly, a dark skinned man wearing only a black speedo
popped into existence. He smiled roguishly at Kat and struck a pose of muscular
handsomeness. “Perhaps I should be
the one to introduce ourselves.”
Shady reached over and bopped the young man on the head.
“Hey, no clit-blocking me, bro! I let you take Megan, you’re not ruining
another hottie for me!”
Kat blinked in surprise as the young man mock-pouted, then
turned to Kat. He grinned and winked at her, just like his “sister” had. “You need
me to get her out of your hair, you just let me know.” Then he vanished as
instantly as he appeared. And yet, even the brief image of his handsome
features had only served to make her arousal rise higher!
Shady sighed in exasperation. “He’s a great lay, but he can
also be a pain in my ass sometimes. I almost regret making him. Almost.”
Kat blinked again, opening her mouth to say something, then
closing it. She opted to scan reality to see just what that had been about. Had
she just admitted to fucking her own brother? A brother who was also apparently
an Omny? Men weren’t supposed to become Omnys!
Shady laughed, easily sensing her thoughts. “That was Jax.
He’s my Splinter. Me in another body, but he’s his own self, too. Don’t worry
about it.”
Kat shook her head, as if trying to clear the cobwebs.
“Okay… um… jeez…”
“You really shouldn’t be so shy,” said Shady. “I mean, sure,
we’re Omnymphotent, we got all the time in the multiverse to get around to
doing things, but really, we all share this cluster, so the sooner you get to
know the rest of us, the better.”
Kat stared at her for a moment, then took a breath and said,
“Okay. Well, um, I’m Kat.” She hesitated, then stuck out her hand. “Nice to
meet you.”
Shady smiled, grabbed her hand, and shook it. Then she
yanked her into a tight hug and planted her lips on the other girl. Kat flailed
as Shady pressed herself fully against her, refusing to let go. Kat tried to
push her off, tried to teleport out of her grip, but Shady clung to her with
all four limbs, and a mystical force of will. And as she did so, she pumped
pure, erotic energy right into Kat’s body.
Within seconds, Kat’s struggles turned into desperate
clutching. Caught completely off-guard, she shivered and squealed into Shady’s
lips as the experienced Omny rapidly triggered every sweet spot across the
helpless young woman’s sensitive body. Ruthlessly insistent tendrils of pure
pleasure lovingly caressed and suckled Kat’s g-spot, clitoris, nipples, the
nook of her neck, her ears, her thighs, every spot the newer Omny was weak to.
Shady finally allowed Kat to break the kiss as the other girl shrieked in an
orgasm that would have cracked the bones of a mortal woman to dust!
Shady smirked down at her, backing off her surge of power,
shivering a bit as she felt some of the feedback. But Shady had much greater
control over her cosmic sex drive than this newly awakened woman. Kat hung limp
in her arms, gasping, weakly clutching at her as she tried to reorient herself.
“Welcome to the club, honey!”
***
Shady hovered cross-legged next to Kat, who floated on her
back, relative to Shady’s position. There was, of course, no real up or down in
the Planar Void, but an Omny had no problem staying oriented with her cosmic
awareness.
Kat only took a few seconds to recover, and once she had her
wits about her, she used her power to force herself fully awake and cognizant.
She jerked away from Shady, curling into a fetal position, and looking at her
warily. She knew there wasn’t a point in running.
“Feeling better?” said Shady.
“What the fuck was that?” said Kat.
“Just cooling you off a bit. You were gushing in your pants
just looking at me.”
“It wasn’t because of you! I told you, I’m not into girls!”
“Doesn’t matter; our erotic energies resonate when we’re close
to one another. You were reacting to me. Plus, I interrupted you, so you were
already hot and bothered. I just figured I’d help you get your head a little
clearer. I didn’t expect you to be so off guard!”
Kat glared at her. “You just assaulted me!”
Shady grinned back. “Yeah, I do that. Felt good, though,
didn’t it?”
Kat’s face was flush with anger as well as embarrassment
that Shady was right. “You—you can’t just—”
“Well, I did. You want to punch my lights out, go ahead.
I’ll give you one free sho—.”
Kat’s fist struck Shady’s face, her arm extending out in an
instant to connect. Shady let out a cry, flying back from the force of it.
“Fucking hell!”
Kat glowered at her as she reeled her arm back to normal,
and Shady floated a few hundred feet away, stunned. After a moment, though, she
shook her head, and teleported back to where she’d been floating, just a few
feet away from Kat. She still had her grin. “Goddamn, you actually did it!
You’re a feisty one!”
“I’ll do it again if you get any closer!”
Shady laughed, holding up her hands in a surrendering
gesture. “Okay, okay, I’m sorry! Really.” She crossed her legs in a sitting
position again, and composed herself. “Alright, well, next time I’ll ask
permission. Promise. But just so you know, that’s how a lot of us Omnys say
hello.”
Kat had to admit, that had felt really fucking good. Even for a quickie, that had been different
than any time with Ben or Sal.
“Best to keep it
quick for now,” said Shady, still blatantly reading her thoughts. “We can do more
another time, but its better if you get your powers more under control first.”
“What makes you think I’m doing anything more with you?”
said Kat, giving her another hard glare. It felt strange, being on the
receiving end of telepathy; she’d learned as a psychic on Thrae to not just
read people’s minds and respond to their thoughts before they had a chance to
voice them. It seemed the Omnys, or at least Shady, had no such sense of polite
restraint.
Shady shrugged. “Eternity is a long time, honey. Eventually,
you’ll try everything at least once! And if I’m reading you right, you’re at
least as sadistic as I am! I’m pretty sure you and me are gunna be peas in a
pod someday!”
“Keep dreaming!”
“Oh, I will! And as you know by now, an Omny’s dreams become
reality!”
Kat rolled her eyes and scowled, but she didn’t try to argue
any further. Shady just hovered there and smiled at her. Kat slowly uncurled
herself, and hovered in a semi-reclined position, as though she were sitting on
a couch.
“Okay. Well. To what do I owe this visit?”
Shady grinned. “I wanted to come check out Sal’s favorite!”
She gave Kat an appreciative once over that made the other girl feel naked. Kat
almost covered herself again, despite still being dressed. But of course, Shady
had already seen everything, and there was no hiding anything from an Omny
anyway. Kat forced herself to get her nerves under control. She was going to
have to deal with the other Omnys at some point, even the ones that rubbed her
the wrong way.
Shady nodded approvingly. “I can see it. You’re fucking hot, you’re loyal, and you are as sadistic as I am, except you can
take no for an answer.”
“Consent is important,” Kat said. “Also, I don’t know if I’m
his favorite anymore.”
Shady laughed. “He fucking loves you, Kat. You know that.”
Kat frowned a bit and looked to the side. “Maybe a little.”
“Well, you know, as much as a man can love a girl from his
own head before it gets creepy. Although some would say thinking that way at
all is already creepy.”
Kat just glared at her again.
“Anyway, enough
about that. We wouldn’t want to be bad feminist role models and fail the
Bechdel Test! Like I said, I’m here to check you out.”
“Okay. Well, you’ve checked me out. Good job.”
“Thank you. I pride myself on my hard work.”
Kat just stared at her.
Shady cocked an eyebrow at her, waiting for a response. When
none came, she pursed her lips in a slight frown. “Well, you’re a lot less
engaging than I thought you’d be. Didn’t think you’d be such a wallflower.”
“Well, I didn’t think I’d be getting jumped today.”
“You still on about that?”
“I don’t know you, so I don’t know what else to be on
about.”
Shady grinned. “You could try knowing me better.”
Kat stared at her again, more studiously this time. Her
pushiness aside, Kat didn’t actually sense any ill intent from the woman before
her. And she knew, if she really had to, she could probably call for help from
the other Omnys if things actually went sour. The Etiquette would keep Shady
from taking things too far, surely.
Shady threw up her hands and gave an exasperated scoff.
“Cripes, what, do you not like black chicks or something?”
Kat flinched, flummoxed. “What? No! That’s got nothing to do
with it!”
Shady cackled, holding her sides as her shoulders shook.
“Oh, man, gets you white girls every time! Relax, I’m just giving you shit!”
She took a moment to compose herself, forcing down further giggles. “Okay,
look, sorry, I did come on too strong
there. I really didn’t realize you were going to be so skittish. Heh, your name
isn’t Kat for nothing, eh?”
Shady unfolded her legs and stood tall, then gestured
between the two of them. “Let’s start over. Hi! I’m Shadia, but everyone calls
me Shady! I like long walks on the beach, bullying thirsty nerds, and teasing
people’s bodies without relief for days and days and days!”
Kat crossed her arms again, taking a still-guarded stance.
She glanced around at the iridescent void around them, and realized it wasn’t
helping her nerves to be floating in an existential non-space. “Could we maybe do
this somewhere a bit less trippy?”
Shady blinked, then looked around. “Oh sure! Yeah, this
place is a little off-throwing, even for us. You wanna go to my place or
yours?”
Kat put a hand up. “Let’s at least do coffee before we start
invading each other’s private spaces.”
Shady chuckled. “I meant Worlds, not houses. I guess you
haven’t actually made one yet?”
“I’m working on it.”
“Sure.”
“Let’s head to Thrae.”
“If we must. I have some nice, cozy Worlds, though!”
Kat glanced across the Omnyverse, easily picking up the
Worlds of Shady’s creation. The cosmic appraisal at once made her nether
regions tingle, and also sent a not-entirely-erotic shiver down her spine. The
World of the Golden Net, where helpless Playthings were chained up and teased
by wicked pixies gave Kat a strong pause, but she made herself look away before
she got too entranced.
Shady noticed the effect, however. “Someone likes what they
see!”
“Thrae, please.”
Shady bowed and swept her arm to the side. “Lead the way, my
little kitty!”
Kat rolled her eyes, but teleported over to a pleasant
mountainside cabin, hundreds of miles from civilization. The scenic view of a
forested valley in the early morning sun helped her orient herself a little
better, and put her in a more confident state of mind, once she’d taken a
calming breath. She glanced around and decided she’d prefer the outdoor view.
With a thought, she extended the cabin’s small patio to a large deck, complete
with four comfortable patio chairs surrounding a table, with a decorative
umbrella providing shade from the sun. She took a seat on a patio chair, and
waited for her “guest” to catch up to her.
Shady appeared a moment later, and glanced around. “What, no
tropical beach? Guess you like your privacy, huh?”
“I don’t want to cause an uproar with two of us resonating
off each other.”
“True enough. So, I re-introduced myself. And you are?”
Kat sighed. “Katherine. Kat. I like watching the sunset and
reading and teasing my boyfriend to tears.”
“Another cockteasing nerd! Sal sure has a thing for those.”
“Yeah, well, my past versions were all adventure heroes, if
that counts.”
“And yet, he wants to fuck the homebody version the most.”
Kat wasn’t entirely sure she’d consider herself a homebody.
It’s not like she didn’t go out and have fun prior to becoming an Omny. But she
supposed short road trips and dinner with friends and the occasional out of
town holiday wasn’t comparable to wandering the world battling supernatural
monsters and villains. A fun fantasy, but in this life, she hadn’t exactly been
cut out for such an adventurous calling, even in the supernaturally inclined
world of Thrae.
“Are you just going to roast me or what?”
“Nah. Actually, I wanted to come ask you a favor. I’d like
to do an experiment.”
“Do tell.”
“You know what a Mingle is?”
“Um, is that the thing where two of you fuse your duplicates
together to make a daughter?”
“Yep!”
“Okay, then sure, I know what a Mingle is. What about it?”
Shady’s grin turned sly. “Mingle with me!”
Kat blinked. “I’m sorry, what?”
“I tried Domina and Megan, but they rejected me. I don’t
want to be sloppy seconds with the other four, but I also don’t want to miss
out on the fun.”
“You already made a Splinter, though?”
“Yes, but Mingles are different, and I still want to try it!
And, you know, you and I seem to resonate pretty well on the sadism part, but
maybe not so much on the -troversion part. I’m an ex-, you’re clearly an in-. So, it makes me extra curious how a
combination would pan out!”
Kat blanched. “You are literally asking me because I’m your
last resort, and you think I’m so new to this, I’ll be dumb enough to agree.”
Shady mock-winced. “Oof. Yeah, okay, just come right out and
say the truth, I don’t mind.”
“Get lost,” Kat said with a huff.
Shady gave a theatrical sigh. “Well, it was worth a shot!”
“I cannot believe you! Christ, if this is what you’re all
like—”
“Don’t let her get to you. Shady just likes to get under
people’s skin.”
Both women jumped as they realized a third had joined them
out of nowhere. They turned to see Cyl, sitting on one of the other chairs.
“Cripes!” said
Shady. “How did you do that?”
“What was that you were saying about sneaking up on people?”
said Kat.
“Well it’s a first for me!”
“I’ve had practice,” said Cyl. The white-haired Korean woman
smiled, looking to Kat with her softly glowing golden eyes. “Hello, Katherine.
I was content to wait for you to be more ready, but I should have initiated a
meeting between us sooner.”
Kat swallowed a bit nervously. Strictly speaking, she was
just as powerful as Cyl, and Cyl was supposed to be the “good girl” of the lot.
But there was something about her that felt a little intimidating, like she’d
just been caught by a big sister while in the middle of some mischief. Kat
instinctively sat up a bit straighter in her seat.
“Uh, that’s okay. I appreciate you giving me space.”
Cyl glanced to Shady. “Shadia, I thought we agreed to not do
the whole seduce-the-newbies-to-our-sides thing?”
Shady rolled her eyes with a scoff. “I wasn’t seducing her. She’s too straight for
that anyway!”
Cyl glanced to Kat, who found herself blushing a bit. “I,
um… sorry? I mean, it’s not like I’ve never
thought about that, but…”
Cyl smiled warmly. “Don’t worry about it. You’re not
obligated to experiment with things you’re not comfortable with. And you’re not
obligated to engage with us if you really don’t want to. Just as long as you
stick to the Etiquette, we’re happy to let you have your own corner.”
“Thanks. I mean, I was going to say hi eventually, but…
well…”
“But you’re a scaredy-Kat,” said Shady with a smirk.
Kat gave her a flat look. “Are you still here?”
Shady sighed, shaking her head. “I’m just giving you shit,
girl. Chill out.”
“Well, don’t. I’ve decided I don’t like you very much. You
remind me of some other girl I didn’t have a good time with.”
Shady rolled her eyes again. “Okay, jeez. I didn’t realize
some of us still got on the rag.”
“Oh, fuck you!”
“That’ll happen eventually, sweetie, I guarantee it!”
Cyl cut them off with a raised hand. “Shady. Please. You’re
just digging yourself a bigger hole here.”
Shady gave the white-haired Omny a sultry smile and winked.
“Gunna dig into your holes later.”
“I can’t wait. Now please give our newest some space.”
Shady made another dramatic sigh, but merely said, “Fine,
whatever.” And with that, she vanished.
Kat continued to glare at her across the dimensional veil
for a few seconds, then turned to Cyl. The other Omny gave her another warm
smile, as Kat felt a sense of ease come over her. The white haired woman really
did give off big sister vibes. In this case, it was a comfort, but Kat knew it
could also be chafing, depending on how this conversation went.
“Sorry again. I really would have contacted you first, but I
was pre-occupied.”
Kat gave the woman a once-over glance. “I’ve gleaned enough
to know you’ve been leaving the Omnyverse now and again. What’s it like out
there?”
“You’ve seen into Salamando’s mind. You know the other
worlds he’s made.”
“Ah. Yeah. Is that, um, wise, though? I can’t help but think
you butting into his superhero worlds is probably kind of, like, upsetting the
balance?”
Cyl shrugged. “In those
worlds, there’s cosmic struggles happening where I barely rank as a grunt
soldier. It’s pretty intimidating, honestly. Genuine supervillains and horrors
and disastrous phenomenon more powerful than us. I’ve actually died out there a
few times. I’ve set up fall back resurrections through the Meta,
though.”
Kat blinked in surprise. “It’s that bad?”
Cyl smiled ruefully. “Maybe I’m a bit of a masochist,
myself. But, even in the other worlds, I stick to my own form of Etiquette. I
don’t interfere with things on the planetary scale. Not too much anyway. I’ve
granted some boons to a few heroes, subtly sabotaged the machinations of a few
villains, those whose plans had the chance to spiral completely out of control
if not stopped in the nick of time.” She shrugged. “It’s a whole multiverse out
there, though, with infinite variations and timelines. I could try to follow
the track of just one of his superhero universes, turn every Earth in those
timelines into a paradise, and there would still always be more to save.”
Kat stayed silent, not sure what to say.
Cyl had looked to the side, lost in thought a bit, but
blinked and glanced up at her. “Sorry. Haven’t really talked with any of the
others about this. You’re the first to bother asking.”
“Um. Well. I guess I can listen.”
Cyl waved her off. “Thanks, but its fine. I’m not going to
burden you on that front. I just came here to get Shady to back off. She likes
to be a pest. Again, I should have spoken to you first.”
“It’s fine. Really. I can handle myself if I really have
to.”
“Oh, I’m sure, if you really
had to. But the point of the Etiquette is to not get to that point.” She gave her a sincere look. “Not to impugn
your self-sufficiency or character, but Shady can get caught up in her antics.
She’s the dig-her-heels-in type when she gets frustrated, and you’re rather
defensive right now. I could sense a potential catfight, so to speak.”
Kat blanched, ignoring the potential pun. “Well, excuse me
for being a little unsteady on my feet. This is nothing like my psychic
powers.”
Cyl nodded. “I meant no offense. I apologize it this seems
presumptuous of me.”
Kat took a moment to steady herself, realizing she was too
easily letting the anxiety well up. She would have assumed being an Omny would
have given her greater confidence, but it really was like her old life. As a
psychic who’d grown up with no other superhumans around, to find herself in the
presence of mages and other psychics and demihumans had made her feel suddenly
small. Knowing she was just the latest of these Omnypotent women, all
experienced, all coming from canons that predated their current reality, Kat
had never before felt like such a small fish in a vast ocean, even if nominally
she was supposed to be as powerful as her fellows.
Kat took a breath, more symbolic than anything, to calm
herself down. “It’s fine.”
“Alright.” Cyl leaned back in her chair and closed her eyes
for a moment, letting the light breeze tussle her hair. She opened them again
and gazed over the lush valley below. “Nice spot,” she said with a smile.
“It’s pretty, yeah,” said Kat. “I don’t really have a home
place yet, but I like coming here to relax.”
Cyl nodded, glancing over to her. “Still working on a
World?”
“Yeah.”
“If you would like, you’re welcome to tour some of mine, if
you need a little inspiration.”
Kat did a glance towards Cyl’s section of the Omnyverse.
She’d technically blipped through a few of them when she’d been chasing down
Sal. “You have some nice ones,” she said. “But I don’t want to just crib
someone else’s style, you know?”
“Fair enough.” Cyl smiled softly. “Sal’s always worried
about originality. Or, if not originality per say, then quasi-unique takes on
things. Most of us just know what we like.”
“Yeah, he gets indecisive. I think I’m starting to relate.”
Kat let out a little grunt of a laugh, finally smiling a bit. “Speaking of, I
guess we really are all sharing him, huh?”
Cyl chuckled. “And we’re back to failing the Bechdel Test.”
“Sorry.”
“No, it’s a fair question, especially where you’re
concerned.” Cyl gave her a sympathetic look. “I would have kept him under my
protection, but he’s got a special connection to all of us. As an author
avatar, he’s not just a normal Plaything for one of us to claim. Even if you
have a much deeper history with him than us, this is our reality, our series, and
we wrested it from him together. The best we can do is utilize his little
sub-clause in the Etiquette. Let our Worlds, yours and mine, be safe zones for
him. But you know how he is, even if you or I gave him a fully fleshed out
entire planet to live on, he’d end up going off to other worlds eventually, or
the other girls might coax him away from it. Strictly speaking, the clause
means we can’t just let him hide on
our Worlds forever, either. We’ll have
to hand him over to Shady or Megan at some point.”
Kat winced at Megan’s name. Shady was one thing, but Megan
was the one who had trapped Sal to get outright gang-raped by Sex Mages,
including a twisted version of herself. Cyl gave her a cool look, noting her
expression.
“Kat. If you wish to confront Megan about what she did, I’m
going to insist on being there to mediate. And that might mean Domina will be
there to back up Megan. I know you’re angry about what she did, but—”
“But for all you’re supposed to be the good girl of the
Omnys, you’re more than happy to look the other way at what the bad girls do.”
Cyl frowned. “You know where an outright battle between us
all leads. And the Omnyverse was built specifically to accommodate the desires
of even the worst of us, who are willing to restrain themselves for more than
they would like, just for the sake of maintaining our home. No, I don’t like that Domina has an entire
world where she brutalizes mortals with constant danger, mutilating torture,
and violence. No, I don’t like that
Shady has a whole tease-torture dimension. No, I don’t like that Devi has a country of worshippers with a harshly
enforced dominance hierarchy.”
She held up a finger. “But.
Those worlds are populated by their own created denizens, designed to fill
those niches, and they heavily restrict those mortals they bring to those
worlds. And they never interfere with the Worlds the rest of us create, where
we do genuinely try to make life good for the people there, Created and
otherwise. And even Domina at her most mad or Shady at her most daring has not
once unleashed their ambitions on Earth or Thrae.”
She gave Kat a hard stare. “It’s a hard thing to come to
terms with. Sometimes being the so-called good one means compromising for the greater good, because the alternative truly
is so much worse. So, if you want to confront Megan, it will be under watch, because if any of us is quicker than you to
get on the defensive, it’s her.” Cyl’s expression softened, and she offered a
calm smile. “Not trying to make things worse for you, I’m just trying to give
you a little perspective.”
“I understand.” The two sat there in silence for a few
moments, before Kat broke the silence again. “Is it weird for you all? That I’m
one of you now?”
Cyl gave her a studious look. “It’s unorthodox. Strictly
speaking, you’re something of a Story Girl, given we made a point to insert you
into the world as a near-copy of your Civero self. But since you fully grew up
as a part of the world, it’s not the same as if we’d just copy-pasted you from
Sal’s old story. That said, you’re also a native to Thrae, and Ascension is
only supposed to happen on Earth.”
“But the rules are loose here,” said Kat, with a nod.
“Stable enough to be mostly reliable, flexible enough to
keep things interesting,” Cyl nodded back.
“That’s just Sal’s indecisiveness showing,” said Kat with a
smirk. Cyl chuckled, and the two laughed at how bizarre their reality really
was. But that wasn’t necessarily a bad thing.
“Alright, well, if you’d like to hang out more, I’ll be
sticking around a while. I need to catch up with my daughter and my lovers. No
pressure, but don’t be a stranger, Kat. And try not to let the others get under
your skin too much. Most of us really aren’t trying to start a fight.”
“Sure. Thanks.”
With that, Cyl nodded and vanished. Kat sat back and gazed
out at the valley, collecting herself. She really did need to learn how to calm
the hell down. Summoning a cup of honeyed tea and a tablet, she decided to go
back over some of Salamando’s older stories, of the world her previous self had
inhabited. She still felt like making a World, if for no other reason than to
give her a better anchor for her sense of self among her fellows. Once she
actually had a place to call her own, and she wasn’t just a drifter across the
Omnyverse, she’d feel a bit more steady in her existence. Or maybe not, but
other than sex, there wasn’t much else she had in mind to do right now.
Skimming through these old stories might at least give her an interesting
template to work off.
“I’m really not that bad once you get to know me.”
Kat scowled and glanced up to see Shady hovering in the air
a few feet in front of her. She’d managed to catch her this time, so it hadn’t
been a surprise, but she was still annoyed.
Before she could say anything, though, Shady held up her
hands to cut her off. “I’m not here to pester you. Honest. Sorry about earlier,
okay? I get it. I’m pushy. You like to fly solo. I won’t harangue you too
much.”
“Too much?”
Shady grinned. “You’ll get used to me.”
Kat sighed, and Shady chuckled.
“Seriously, I’ll leave you alone for now. But Cyl’s right.
Don’t be a stranger. I really think you and I can have some real fun together.
No pressure, just, the door’s always open, okay?”
Kat glanced the other girl over. As much as she hated to
admit it, she could feel the kindred desire for wicked teasing in them both.
Sooner or later, Shady’s temptations would end up getting to her.
“Let me get a World made, and then maybe we can hang out
sometime.”
Shady grinned wide. “I’ll take it! See you around, Kitty!”
And before Kat could say another word, she vanished.
Kat pursed her lips, but went back to reading. This was
going to be an interesting new life, indeed.
***
Three weeks later, Kat mulled over her handiwork, hovering
invisibly in a sky of her own creation. Below her, a large island world, with
modern cities and lush biomes, sprawled out for miles around. It was the newest
addition to the Omnyverse, a World of her own creation.
It was a post-industrial nation, inhabited by humans, with
its own strain of Sex Magic. Having sex granted women a superhuman power when a
man came inside them, for a few days at a time. And, of course, the more a man
was “charged up” when he came, the more powerful and longer-lasting the woman’s
ability was. The powers were nothing particularly special, super strength or super speed or fire breath, nothing wilder than the Omnys’ other Empowered
throughout the world. However, these powers greatly motivated a femdom culture
with tease and denial and orgasm control for men.
She might throw a couple other types of magic in there for
good measure, but for now, everything seemed to balance out well enough. There
could be some adventure on the world, possibly some superhero action, but
nothing too out of control. She had
yet to decide how she’d integrate herself. A particularly powerful super woman?
Just an average citizen? The Queen of the nation? Who could say.
She’d figure that out later, too. For now, she was starting
to feel horny again. It would almost be annoying, if the sex didn’t feel
literally divine, and the trade-off wasn’t having the power of a God. Once her
libido was a bit more tamed, it would truly be a win-win scenario! She
considered which of her very limited pool of lovers to visit, before realizing
she now had an entire World of her own to play with. Maybe she should break it
in the Omny way.
“And she looked upon her works, and saw that it was Good and
also Horny!”
Almost win-win.
With a flat look, Kat turned and saw Shady hovering next to her, rubbing her
chin as she gazed studiously across the land. The other Omny turned to her and
grinned. “I like it! Super cheeky superheroes! Sal would approve.”
“My life doesn’t revolve
around our author, you know.”
Shady cocked a thumb towards the island below. “And yet,
this is just like one of his unused erotica templates.”
“Coincidence, I assure you.”
“Uh-huh.”
Kat shrugged and folded her arms. “I suppose I was feeling
nostalgic for my past lives, which, of course, he wrote me as an adventuring
superhero in most of them. So that informed a lot of it. Adding a sex twist to
the powers is just me trying to embrace the whole Omnymphotent thing.”
“Just reverting to type, huh?”
“Look, it was either this, or I go full cliché and make a
catgirl nation. Anyway, what do you want?”
Shady rolled her eyes. “Jeesh,
still so stand-offish! You said we could make out once your World was made!”
“That’s hang out,
and I literally just finished!”
“You didn’t set a time limit!”
Kat sighed. “Can I at least get a day to appreciate my work
without interruption?”
“Honey, you’ve been at this for weeks. Most of us take a
day, tops, to make our worlds. You seriously need to get out of the house, so
to speak.”
“And do what? I’m not fucking you.”
“Well, I’ve been talking to Megan. She’s ready to speak to
you.”
Kat froze a bit. This was something she had been steadfastly
not thinking about. “I don’t know.”
“Come on, I really think the sooner we get this issue
resolved, the better. You can sit in your World seething over it for an eon,
but it’s not like when you were mortal and could move to another city and
pretend she doesn’t exist. Us Omnys can’t ignore each other like that.”
“We could if you’d let us.”
“Well, I’m not. So come on. Let’s get this water under this
bridge.”
Kat took a long breath, calming her nerves. “Is Cyl coming?”
Shady paused. “Um… well, Megan doesn’t like her that much,
and neither does Domina. They don’t mind me too much. I think it would go
better if I’m the arbiter.”
Kat scowled. “I wouldn’t trust you to arbitrate what side of
the toast to butter.” She sent a thought out to Cyl. <Are you aware of this,
or is Shady setting me up?>
There was a moment’s pause, during which Shady winced and
looked to the side, clearly lost in her own thoughts for a moment. Cyl finally
responded. <She’s being sincere, but I’m glad you checked with me first. I
will watch the meeting, if you want to do it, but she does have a point. I’m
not their favorite.>
<You’re really going to let Shady try to oversee this?>
<I will be there the moment things go sour. But it might
be better if she doesn’t start off with their hackles raised from my presence.
Likewise, we should just let it be between you and Megan, and if I show up,
Domina is going to insist on being there to flex on us. But it’s entirely up to
you, Kat.>
The noirette mulled it over for a few moments, then nodded.
She looked to Shady. “Alright, I think I’m ready.”
Shady grinned. “You won’t regret it!”
“We’ll see.”
The two shifted across the dimensional veil, Shady leading
Kat directly into the World of Apoclypha, Domina’s brutal hellscape. Kat made a
point not to pay attention to the blasted, demon-infested world designed to
feed on mortal suffering. She had to remind herself, that this was all just
Created, and the wailing humans around them were all designed to be there for
the sake of the ambiance.
Most of them, anyway. Kat didn’t think even the worst people
on Earth probably deserved what Domina put them through here. But the Etiquette
demanded she not stick her nose in the other Omnys’ business.
“Do we have to do
this here?” said Kat, as the two hovered before a tall, grey tower, Megan’s
personal abode in her Splinter’s World.
“Well, it was this or the Planar Void, but I know that
freaks you out a bit.”
“I would rather deal with the Void.”
“Well, too late, we’re already here.”
Kat sighed, but steeled herself. This world was a living
nightmare. She knew the way Splintering worked, Domina and Megan were supposed
to be considered fully different people. Maybe one could give Megan the benefit
of the doubt, that Domina was all of Megan’s darkest impulses vented out of herself,
and the actual Megan wasn’t as bad as all this. Still, it was telling that
rather than make her own World, Megan still used Domina’s as her home, and
presumably didn’t mind settling into the miserable atmosphere.
Shady took Kat’s arm and nudged her towards the grey tower
before them. Kat ignored all the spikes and rough edges, and the swathe of
impaled faux-humans doting the lands around them. They floated straight through
the wall into the highest part of the tower.
Megan was there, the brunette wearing her red jeans and
jacket and her old pair of glasses, sitting at a computer on a large desk. The
room was one large circle, maintaining its medieval look. Grey brick walls,
dark wood floor boards and small windows, lit by glowing balls of light floating
around the walls, like mystical light bulbs. A large four-poster bed dominated
the room, as did Megan’s elaborate computer rig.
“Really?” said Shady, coming over to look over Megan’s
shoulder. “World of Warcraft? You could create
the World of Warcraft and actually run around in it, you know.”
“I’m researching for ideas,” said Megan. She played for
another few seconds, getting to a stopping point, before turning in her seat to
look at Kat.
Kat stared back at her, a whirl of emotions going through
her head. Megan was cute in her own way, but probably the most plain looking of
all the Omnys. She had a nervous tension to her, and the way she hunched over a
bit in her seat made it clear she wasn’t the most comfortable or confident in
herself, not in the presence of other Omnys. On the one hand, Kat could relate
to that a bit.
On the other hand, Kat could sense the bitter streak in the
girl. There was a meanness to her that went beyond the sexual sadism. Even now,
the look she gave Kat was one closer to disdain at having to suffer her
presence, than wanting to patch things up.
Megan stood and walked up to her, crossing her arms and
staring up at her with a frown. Even though Kat was a few inches taller, the
noirette still had the impression that the brown haired girl was looking down
at her. “Alright. Shady says you got beef with me. I can guess why, but don’t
expect me to—”
Kat’s fist shot out, connecting with the other girl’s jaw.
Megan flew off the floor and crashed into the wall. Kat glared down at her,
fists clenched.
“Woah, woah!” said
Shady, stepping in between them. “What the hell, girl? Gunna start calling you
Punch-Kat, you keep that up!”
Megan blinked up at her, more startled than hurt. She pulled
herself to her feet and glared right back. “What the fuck was that for?”
“That was for Salamando.”
Megan cocked her head to the side. “What about him?”
“For trapping him in that pocket dimension for so long.”
Megan made a little amused snort. “You know he liked it.”
“And for using my
likeness to do the worst to him.”
“He liked that,
too.”
“Keep telling yourself that.”
“I will!”
“Girls!” Shady waved her hand in between them. “Chill out!
Jesus! You start actually fighting, and
it’s going to cause problems!”
Megan’s fist reared back. “I owe her one.”
“No, I already owed you
one! You punch me, then I’m going to owe you another!”
“That’s not how this works!” Megan teleported behind Kat and
slammed her fist down on her back.
Kat was knocked flat to the ground. Warping the world around
them, Megan yanked them all out into the grizzly yard around her tower, and
increased her size until Kat was no bigger than the palm of her hand. She
picked up the stunned noirette and held her up to her face, squeezing tightly
with her fist as she spoke through an angry grimace.
“You do not want
to get me started, you brainless bimbo. I might not be the fighter Cyl or
Lettie are, but I do know how to use
my powers better than you do!”
Kat glared up at her, not bothering to match her height. She
was unharmed, despite the strength of Megan’s grip, but she was being held
fast, not just from her physical grip, but Megan’s power forming an invisible
weave of spacetime that was blocking Kat’s ability to either phase or teleport
away. Kat sucked in a breath, then puckered her lips and spat a huge gout of
fire at Megan’s face.
The brunette flinched, not expecting that for a
counter-attack. Her grip loosened just enough for Kat to bend her body like
putty and slither out of the giant girl’s grasp. As Megan snuffed out the flames
on her face with a blink, Kat was already landing on the ground and
transforming herself into a panther the size of warehouse. She growled down at
the suddenly much smaller Omny.
Megan sighed with exasperation, and simply grew ten times
larger than Kat, and split off eleven duplicates, all forming a ring around the
now comparatively kitten-sized Omny.
Shady, meanwhile, had teleported herself a few miles away to
give the two girls some space, while keeping the whole scene in perfect view
with her cosmically enhanced senses. She reclined back in the air, hovering in
a relaxed position. For effect, she summoned a big bowl of popcorn and let a
few pieces float to her mouth.
Cyl appeared next to her, in her black bodysuit and flowing
red energy cape. “Oh, for fuck’s sake.”
Shady gestured to the bowl and floated it over to Cyl. “Hey,
I told them to knock it off, but you know how it gets.”
“Yes, I do know
how it gets. I’m putting a stop to this.”
“No. Let ‘em slap it out. This is Domina’s World, some
collateral damage will probably improve the ambience.”
“Next time I’m in one of your
Worlds, I’ll be sure to remember that.”
Cyl and Shady turned to see the imposing redhead hovering
behind them, arms crossed and bearing regal as always, staring off at the two
Omnys as they flickered through increasingly large and multi-bodied forms.
Megan was now three dozen women with demonic horns and wings, swarming around a
hydra-esque panther monster with numerous cat heads on long necks, and
thousand-foot-long blades at the end of a dozen claws.
“You going to help your Splinter?” said Cyl, wary.
Domina gave a little hmph.
“Megan can fight her own battles. And my World is no stranger to catastrophic
fights.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes. I’d like to see how this pans out.”
Shady shrugged and Cyl frowned, but she settled into a
cross-legged hover next to Shady. “Very well. I’ll let them get it out of their
system, but if there starts being ripple effects, I’ll step in.”
“But not a moment before!” said Shady. “Ten gets you five
they’ll transition to making out halfway through the fight.”
“They’re both straighter than me,” Cyl pointed out.
“They’re just in denial,” laughed Shady.
“Zip it, both of you,” said Domina. “I’m watching the show.”
Truth be told, it wasn’t much of a fight, so much as a
flex-off. The two girls took swipes at each other while they continued to alter
their forms, trying to intimidate one another, looking for openings in each
other’s defenses. They did not simply focus on the physical; they extended
their challenge to more esoteric attack and defense, attempting to alter time
flows to trip each other up, to alter matter around each other, to yank gravity
in alternate directions, to take pot shots with a wide array of energies, to
erratically bend space around one another to strike from unexpected angles.
Both girls blocked each other’s attacks, neutralizing the
energy and space-warping and transmutation effects as quickly as they fired off
their own. Ethereal tendrils of one another’s power coiled and grappled with
each other in dimensions only the Omnys could perceive. From a mortal
perspective, it simply appeared like a cluster of monsters were occasionally
swiping at each other, but dozens of actions were being launched and countered
in the space between heartbeats. And for all that, to Cyl’s experienced eyes,
the two looked like they were engaging in the Omny equivalent to a limp-wristed
slap fight.
Cyl sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. “Good grief. Is
this how we used to fight? No wonder Temael slaughtered us back then.”
“No talking about Old Canons,” Domina snapped. “I’ll not
have it here.”
“Apologies,” said Cyl, looking back up at the little fight.
“It’s just that neither of them have the slightest clue how cosmic combat
works.”
Shady cocked an eyebrow at her. “I know we’re not the top
dogs out there, but how complicated does it need to be when you can just think
things into reality? I mean, when you’re functionally omnipotent, it just comes
down to raw power mostly, right?”
Cyl shook her head. “Power is part of it, yes. There is
certainly a point at which you simply hit a wall you can’t break through. But
there are very few beings out there who flatly outdo us. There’s a lot more
that are simply on our level. And among those, it’s like any martial art,
scaled up to cosmic levels. Much more complicated and multi-layered than mere
body movement, of course, but the point is, cosmic combat is a trainable
skill.”
“How good are you
then?” said Shady.
Cyl gave her a cool gaze. “I say this without any ego or
pride. I could single-handedly defeat all of you combined, if I really had to.”
Shady blinked, giving a grin that was more wary than she
intended. “No ego, huh? I’ve seen you spar with Lettie. She can keep up with
you, easy. And Wyllow’s got all your experience.”
“My daughter has all my experience from before I started fighting across the multiverse. And Lettie has
never once made me break a sweat, so to speak.”
“Not until the post-fight cunnilingus match, anyway!” said a
sudden chipper voice. The others turned as Lettie pounced onto Cyl, nuzzling
against her. “Cyllyyyy! You said you were taking me seriously! Have you just
been hiding your power level this whole time?” She gave her a puppy-eyed pout.
Cyl ruffled the brunette’s hair. “If it’s any consolation,
you’re the silver medal in the Omny MMA circuit.”
Cyl grinned wide. “I’ll take it! Second is the best, after
all!”
“Even compared to me, mother?” Wyllow suddenly appeared and
leaned against Cyl from behind, hugging her around the shoulders and resting her
chin on her progenitor’s head. Her crimson eyes took in the fight in the
distance, studying the two women’s moves.
“You’re the bronze, for sure,” said Cyl, reaching up and
giving her daughter a pat on the head.
“No, I’m the
bronze!” said another voice. Demi appeared, hovering in a sitting position
between Cyl and Shady. She turned to the dark-skinned Omny and winked. “That
was a skin tone joke.”
“I’d say you’re more of an olive than a bronze,” Shady
pointed out.
“Work with me here.”
“Maybe just leave the ethnicity jokes to the master.”
Demi stared at her with a smirk.
Shady cocked an eyebrow. “What?”
“Do I need to say it?”
“Yes.”
“If we’re making ethnicity jokes, are you sure you’d be the master?”
Shady blinked, then laughed. She clapped the other girl on
the shoulder. “I take it back, you got the moxie!”
“You’re both horrible,” said Wyllow, blanching at the two.
“You’re only half-white, so you should only half-care,” said
Shady.
“Well, I’m not at all white, and I wish you’d knock that
kind of humor off,” said Cyl with a scowl.
Demi looked to Wyllow apologetically. “Sorry, baby. Sorry,
Aunt Cyl.”
“Cuck,” muttered Shady.
“Oh, my, are we having a meeting?” came another voice.
Whitney appeared out of nowhere, followed by a somewhat confused looking Devi.
“Is something happening? I sensed everyone gathering in one
place.”
Jax popped up a second later. “Shady, are you stirring up
shit again?”
“JESUS CHRIST, STOP CROWDING INTO MY WORLD! WHO SAID YOU
COULD ALL PILE IN HERE?!”
The collected group winced and turned to see Domina glaring
down at them all, looking absolutely livid. Her hair had literally caught fire,
and her eyes blazed with blue flames. “OUT! EVERYBODY OUT! MY WORLD IS NOT A
CLUBHOUSE!”
Shady cocked a thumb towards the two still-scuffling Omnys.
“But what about the fight? It’s just getting to the good part!” Everyone
glanced over to see Kat and Megan had completely given up on altering their
forms and throwing esoteric attacks at one another. They were now back in their
normal human forms, at normal size, and were resorting to punching, clawing,
and pulling at each other’s hair. “Look! Any second now, they’re gunna start
scissoring! Who wants to bet me?”
“EVERYBODY LEAVE! YOU CAN WATCH FROM ELSEWHERE!”
“Awwww,” muttered Lettie. She stuck her tongue out at the
furious redhead, but was the first to pop out. The others all rapidly
scattered, until only Shady and Cyl remained with Domina. Domina glowered down
at Cyl.
The white-haired Omny put a hand up. “I’m here as arbiter.”
The redhead snapped her glare to Shady and jabbed a finger
at her. “You. Gone. Now.”
“Come on, I’m emotionally invested at this point!” said
Shady, glaring back.
“You’re the one who started this, troublemaker!”
“Everyone was just stopping by to say hello, don’t act like
we all took turns shitting in your cereal.”
“I don’t like any
of you being here more than necessary!”
“Gawd, you’re worse than the newbie!”
Domina punched one fist into her other palm, looming over
her. “Do you want to go a round?”
Shady grinned, and shot to her feet, getting into an
exaggerated boxing stance. “Maybe I do, Red! It’s about time we settled which
of us is the best Devil Queen!”
Cyl held a hand up, not looking at them. “Hold that thought
girls.” The others turned back, looking towards the fight.
Kat and Megan were laying on the ground, huffing. They were
both still dressed, and their cosmic defenses meant they didn’t even look
scuffed up, but they’d clearly worn themselves out in their little scrap. Cyl,
Shady, and Domina all shared a glance, then teleported down to them, all
standing over the two collapsed girls.
“Get it all out of you, Punchy-Kitty?” said Shady, leaning
over Kat with a smirk. The noirette scowled up at her, then shifted herself
back to her feet, composing herself.
Domina just looked down at Megan with a cold expression,
arms crossed. “Couldn’t even best a newbie, hmm?”
“Fuck off,” muttered Megan, likewise shifting to her feet.
Cyl looked between the two women. “Now that that’s out of
your system, shall we move on to civil conversation, or do you two just need to
avoid each other from now on?”
Megan looked to the side. “I’m sorry, okay? He started me off in a crummy situation, and I know it
was all for like gravitas or drama or whatever, but it still sucked. And then I Ascended and felt
that elation of freedom, and then immediately find out my whole world is under
the thumb of some guy at a keyboard in the middle of a depression snap, writing
me to be his personal jerk off doll, and it wasn’t even the sex stuff that got
to me, I just hated the idea of being
controlled any further. So I took him and I threw him somewhere I wouldn’t have
to deal with that anymore.”
Kat gave her a curious look. “I mean, you know you only
grabbed an avatar of him, right? Like you didn’t grab our actual author.”
“Yeah, I know. He tossed himself in here as like an olive
branch or something. Give us an effigy to take our aggression out on. Also, to
fulfill his sick fantasies. You shouldn’t feel too sorry for him, I gave him
exactly the sort of thing he jerks off to. Still felt good to do it, you know?
A little poetic justice, even if it was all symbolic.” Megan gave her a curious
look back. “Which just begs the question why you cared so much.”
Kat frowned at that. “Well. He’s an avatar, but that means
what we do to him is how we really would act towards the author. And the avatar
is still his own person, on top of that. The symbolism is real, in this case.”
Megan sighed and rubbed her temple. “This is exactly the
kind of manipulative metafictional bullshit I’m talking about.”
Kat could reluctantly see her point. “Were you ever going to
let him out?”
“No. No, I wasn’t. I figured if the others actually cared,
they’d get him out eventually. And if not, oh, well.” Kat scowled at that, and
Megan scowled right back. “Sorry, but that’s how I feel. And Cyl freed him
anyway. He was barely in there a few months.”
Cyl spoke up, looking to Kat. “I confess, I left him in
there at first, right after I found him. I made his situation more comfortable,
but I wasn’t entirely sure what the best course of action was, so I didn’t let
him go. I suppose I was a little bitter at him, too. You understand, he was
gearing up to pull a Tabitha on us. I’m pretty sure you know what that’s like.”
Kat frowned, but she really didn’t have a good counter
argument. She had been given a fully realized story, or at least, this version
of her had. But she was aware of all the other versions of Kat that Sal had
made and tossed, like he had so very many of all his other characters across
the whole of his multiverses. She supposed she couldn’t blame the Omnys for
taking things in hand, when they had the chance.
“Okay. I get it. And you did get him out eventually.”
“Yes.”
Megan, still looking moody, held out a hand. “Okay, so, I
dunno, truce maybe?”
Kat looked at her hand, and after a few long moments,
reluctantly took it. “Yeah. Truce.” The two looked each other in the eye and
shook on it.
When they let go without doing or saying anything more,
Shady let out a loud grumble. “Come on! One kiss! One! Gimme something!”
Both girls turned their scowls to her. “Just because we’re
perverts doesn’t mean we’re sluts,” said Megan.
Shady shook her head and gave an exasperated sigh. “Fucking
straights.”
Domina made a single loud clap of her hands. “Alright, well,
this is all very heartwarming, but if that’s everything squared away, then
would you all kindly GET THE FUCK OFF MY WORLD.”
Shady made a show of rubbing her ears. “Alright, Queen
Bitch, we HEAR ya, Jesus.” She made a
single, quick wave. “Smell ya later, straights!” And with that, she vanished.
Cyl beckoned to Kat. “Come on. Time to clear out.”
“One last thing,” said Kat, turning back to Megan and trying
to ignore Domina’s blazing eyes. “Avatar or not, he’s still the closest direct
connection to our creator. Please don’t be too
rough on him.”
“I won’t flay him alive or throw him in a rape dungeon again
or anything, but I’m still going to zap him in the dick to let off a little
steam now and then.”
“Fair enough,” said Kat. She turned, only to get a face full
of Domina’s bosom. Kat jerked back, and Domina loomed over her, leaning down
and putting a forceful hand on the noirette’s shoulder.
“While we’re setting terms, Katherine, here’s mine: I’ve
ignored Salamando up until now, but if you ever come into my World and start
shit again, I will use my allotted
time with him to flay him alive. Do you understand me?”
Kat wanted to smart off and immediately throw another punch
at this thug of a woman, but Domina’s sheer force of presence froze her in place. Even if the towering redhead wasn’t a
clear brute, this was neither the time nor the place to start another fight,
not when she’d just made a truce with Domina’s Splinter and not when she was
still in Domina’s World. And for all just looking at Domina made Kat’s blood
run hot with disdain, the other Omny was in the right here. Kat had started swinging, unprovoked.
“Are we clear?”
said Domina, her gaze like daggers in Kat’s mind.
“Domina,” said Cyl, taking a step forward. Kat held up a
hand.
“We’re clear, ma’am,” said Kat, trying to keep her voice
steady. “I apologize for causing trouble.”
Domina held her for a moment longer, then backed off,
stepping back and crossing her arms again. She still had a glowering air to
her, but the sense of sheer threat
was dissipated. “Alright, then. Get lost.”
Kat and Cyl didn’t say anything else, simply vanished back
to Kat’s mountain cabin in Thrae.

“Cripes. I could have handled that better.” Kat had a hand
to her chest as she sagged back into her chair on the expanded deck. Her heart
was pounding, and she let it settle naturally, instead of forcing it. It struck
her for the first time, the curious dichotomy of Goddess level powers housed in
a human body that still defaulted to human reactions.
Cyl settled into the other chair, giving her a calm look.
“Yes, you could have. But you could have handled it worse. Thank you for not
escalating things further.”
Kat glanced over to her, then down to the ground. “I’m, uh,
sorry to be a pain in the ass.”
Cyl waved her off. “We all have had our issues to resolve,
even after we’ve been given all this power. And I’m sorry, I should have
facilitated a smoother meeting, so that’s on me. But it’s over and done with,
and resolved relatively amicably, so now that’s one less thing to worry about.
Just steer clear of Domina for a while.”
“Don’t gotta tell me twice.”
“Alright, then. I have some things to attend to, but if you want
to talk sometime, let me know. I’d be happy to get to know you better myself,
when you’re ready.”
Kat glanced over to her. “Yeah. I think I would, too. But I
could use a little space for a bit longer, I think.”
“I’ll tell Shady to leave you be for a bit, then.”
“Thanks.”
Cyl smiled. “Welcome to the club, Kat.” Then she vanished.
Kat lay back in her seat for another few moments, then
shifted a bit as her body reminded her that she hadn’t taken care of her needs
before going off to have her little cat fight with Megan. Her still-simmering
libido coaxed her to get a move on.
Well, she did have a new world to take for a spin. No time
like the present! And with that, she shifted over to her creation, and weighed
her many options for satiating her needs.
