Didsy's Prologue

She came too as if from a dreamless haze. Her body still felt a bit flush from the... weekend... week? How long had they been going at it? An impossible length, it seemed. Surely, even her body would have collapsed far earlier from such intense stimulations and copulations...

She sat up, pulling the sheets of an absurdly large bed around her form. A quick glance told her that the boy she’d been summoned to please was already gone, and the one who had summoned her...

“Morning!” She flinched as a nubile brunette girl was suddenly sitting right next to her. She felt herself flush as she took in the girl’s brazen nudity.

“Good... morning...” Didsy swallowed hard as she felt a sharp pang in her chest. As her thoughts came clearer into focus, her exact circumstances came into stark relief. She remembered exactly who and what she was, and why she was here.

The girl before her was some kind of god, an omnipotent being with an obsession for sex. She’d plucked one of her hundreds of mortal lovers out of his home to bring him to this... Didsy wasn’t sure if this large bedroom was actually part of a house, or if it was its own little pocket dimension. The powers of these gods enabled them to create anything they could imagine in an instant. Anything at all... including bring to life a facsimile of a certain video game character the god’s mortal lover had a waifu-crush on.

Didsy’s hand tightened around the bundle of sheets she held up to her chest. “Did I... do good?”

The girl grinned wide. Collette, her name was. “Lettie” for short. “You did great! The way you rode him and manhandled him, all firm but gentle, man, I had to hold him back so he wasn’t cumming non-stop!”

Didsy remembered the man was unable to last a minute under her attentions. But she also knew it wasn’t really her own skill that was responsible for his hair trigger. Lettie, all-powerful sex goddess, had people riding the edge of sexual peak just being near them. Obviously, she was tamping her lustful aura down at the moment, but...

“I guess I have to go now,” said Didsy. “You’re going to erase me, now that I’ve served my purpose.”

“Well, that was the idea. We don’t usually let our Created last past their session. And most of them are fine with that.” She cocked her head to the side, giving Didsy a curious look. “That’s not you, though, is it?”

Didsy just stared at her, not sure what to say. She wasn’t sure what to even feel. It was all coming into stark relief now. She, right now, was a flesh and blood being, a young woman full of life, and seemingly self-aware and autonomous. And yet, she also knew that she was a video game character. Her “true”  self was a series of two-dimensional drawings in an old roleplaying game, where she was cast as a magician-librarian to help the hero/player unlock new quests and forms of magic and appraise magical items. She wasn’t even one of the playable cast, but she was certainly one of the most important of the “NPCs”.

Lettie had brought her to life to satisfy a fantasy of her mortal lover. And Didsy was happy to have served her intended purpose. She’d had a lot of fun with the mortal, and the goddess who brought them together. But now that it was over...

Lettie smiled warmly at her. “You want to keep going, don’t you?”

Didsy nodded immediately. “Yes. Please. I don’t want to just... just go back to... a game character. Please, please don’t erase me!”

Lettie reached forward and cupped Didsy’s cheek. “Ah, you Story Girls are always a little tricky like that. We really should just make you into blanks; just use the image. When you manifest with all those past-life memories, it makes it hard to let go, huh?”

Didsy trembled under Lettie’s gentle touch. “P-please...” she whispered. Her eyes were wide and shining as existential panic welled up within her.

Lettie gave her a sympathetic look, then pulled her forward into a hug. Despite Didsy’s own considerable strength, there was no resisting the goddess’s pull. Didsy let herself be hugged, terrified that this might be her last moment of true life.

“Honey, we’re not so cruel as to throw away our Creations if they genuinely want to persist. Most are just content to do the job we made them for and then go back to sleep, as it were. But if you want to keep going, I’d be happy to let you. You did your service, you’re free to do what you want now.”

Didsy felt her eyes moisten. “Oh thank you! Thank you so much!” She fought back the urge to cry from the sudden surge of relief. She hadn’t realized just how quickly, and powerfully, the tension had grown inside her in just a few moments.

Lettie pulled back and chuckled. “It’s nothing to thank me for, you earned you keep after all!” She winked. “If you ever want to see him again, just let me know.”

Didsy swallowed. He’d been decent looking and skilled in bed, but... she didn’t know the guy, and he’d seen her only as a fantasy scenario being played out. Neither he, nor she, had expected her to become a permanent consideration in his life.

Lettie nodded, easily seeing her thoughts. “I understand. You’re not at all obligated.” The goddess waved her hand. Suddenly, the two of them were sitting in a posh dining room, seated at a table in front of a large bay window, overlooking a beautiful flower garden. Both of them were dressed, Lettie in her usual jeans and low-cut top, Didsy in her blue and white fantasy robes. A cup of steaming tea was already on the table in front of Didsy, while Lettie treated herself to a can of cold sweet tea.

“So,” said Lettie, after cracking open a can and taking a long gulp. “You’ve got your lease on life. What are you going to do with it?”

Didsy paused in thought. She picked up her tea, blew on it, and took a sip. A lovely flavor of jasmine, her favorite. And just the right temperature, too. “Um... well... I’ll need a place to live and a job...” She reached up and lightly tugged on her long, furry ear. “I... have a strange feeling people like me are... unusual on that man’s world?”

Lettie gave Didsy a once-over. She was a fairly tall young woman, orange-red hair hanging long down her back, fair skinned, with sky-blue eyes behind her round glasses. Other than her somewhat elaborate outfit, exactly the sort of thing you’d expect from a fantasy-themed anime, Didy’s most prominent stand-out feature were her ears: instead of human ones, she had two long white, fuzzy rabbit ears. She also had a small rabbit tail, thought that was easily hidden under her clothes.

In the world of the game, Didsy was one of several races of demihuman, living alongside humans, dwarves, elves, and other such fantasy races. Following the rule of “cool monster dudes and sexy monster women”, Didsy was considerably more human looking than any male of her species, and even most females of other demihuman species. Such was the stereotype, of course. Didsy might have been annoyed at the sexism of it, but she couldn’t deny even she thought she looked rather cute. Say what you will about objectification, her character designer had given her the right kind of look that had ultimately led to this goddess bringing her to a true existence. She wasn’t going to fault what worked.

It occurred to her she might want to meet her own conceptual creator some day. Her artist and author, or coder, or whoever had actually made her in the process of the game’s creation. But for now, she wanted to discover herself.

Lettie nodded at her question, after sizing her up. “It’s true that demihumans do not exist in his world. You would be quite the sight. I could, of course, convert your ears to human and get rid of your tail, if you would like... but I can already see from your expression that you would not like.” Lettie grinned. “Fear not, we Omnys have created lots of different worlds of our own, where no one would even bat an eye at a rabbit-eared girl.”

“Omnys?” Didsy said.

“Omnymphotents,” said Lettie. “It’s what I am. It’s a combination of--”

“Omnipotent and nympho. Yeah, got it. Very clever.”

“Thanks! Can’t take credit, though, a nice mortal made it up for us.”

“I see.”

“Anyway, just as we can create beings like you, we can create entire worlds of our own. And not just little domiciles like this house.” Lettie gestured around them.

Didsy nodded. “I see. So I could live in one of these worlds?”

Lettie nodded. “Thrae is the big one, a large world with hundreds of millions of people. A peaceful place, mostly humans, basically like living on Earth, actually, but there’s all sorts of other beings there. You’d fit right in.” She took another chug of her canned tea. “Setting you up with a life there is no problem. I can slot you into a job at a library if you’re still wanting to stick to that.”

Didsy gave it a solid think. “I...” the thought of returning to sorting books and looking up information for random customers did have an appeal of familiarity. However, the more she thought about it...

“You said there were other worlds?”

Lettie nodded. “I only have a couple to my name, and Thrae is sort of a joint venture thing; we can all use it. But otherwise, if there is another world you’d be more interested in... say, Wood Knot or Aztlazon, I can ask the other Omnys about it.”

Didsy shook her head. “I... I think, actually, if it wouldn’t be too much to ask.” She took a breath, feeling an unexpected thrill rise in her chest. “In my old world... in the game... I was always admiring the heroes. I wished I could go with them on their quest, but despite my strength, I would not have been able to keep up with them. I wasn’t a trained fighter, although I was able to protect my village from lower level monsters. But more importantly, despite all my research, I was never able to actually use magic. And the heroes had to use magic to defeat the more powerful monsters, and eventually defeat the Demon King. I never had the spark necessary to wield that power, though. And the world was too dangerous to travel at that time. So, I stayed in my city, and tended to my books, and did what little alchemistry I was able to manage with my limited resources.”

She glanced at Lettie, but the goddess just waited patiently for her to continue. “I think... I would like to go on an adventure. If you... Omnys... have many worlds one can visit, I would like to visit them all. Or at least a fair number.”

Lettie smirked. “I don’t know about all of them. My fellows have made quite a lot, and some of them are made for very special guests and circumstances. But yes, a fair number of the worlds are accessible to those who know how to reach them, not just from Earth or Thrae, but from each other in some cases.” She leaned forward. “As for learning magic, I think I can accommodate you there, as well.”

Didsy’s eyes widened. “Really?”

“You really just want to go sight seeing? Or were you hoping to fight monsters or something? Most of us don’t really make overtly dangerous worlds, you know, and the ones that are dangerous aren’t built for heroes to conquer. You won’t be slaying any dragons or rescuing fair maidens.”

“I see. Well, um, I think I really would like to just travel, but...”

“But you’ve a thirst for knowledge. And perhaps a bit of a thirst for... power?”

Didsy looked to the side. That was true, wasn’t it? She’d always been jealous of the mages and sorcerers and wizards of her world, of the mystic warriors who couldn’t cast spells but could still channel mana for superhuman abilities. Her own strength was impressive by human standards, but nothing compared to the true superhumans and legendary warriors of her world.

“Are you really going to let me learn magic?”

“Yep! In fact, you’ve got me quite intrigued! Most forms of magic and power are exclusive to the worlds they are in. You can fly in certain worlds, but not in most. I think, since you spent so much of your old life pining over skills you couldn’t achieve, I’ll do you a solid: every world you go to, you can learn the native magic, and carry it with you to the next. Travel and study for long enough, and you’ll be a top-tier wizard who those fantasy heroes would have killed to have in their party!”

Didsy was slightly taken aback, a bit unbelieving at such fortune. “I... I don’t know what to say... um... thank you? I don’t know how I can repay you. For... all of this.”

It was all so surreal. She was a video game character suddenly given life, suddenly given power, and freedom.

“Don’t worry about it. Just do me a favor in return: I’ll be watching you, so keep things entertaining for me!”

Didsy swallowed. “Um... I’ll try, I guess, but... you make it sound like this won’t be particularly dramatic as adventures go.”

Letting paused and gave a thoughtful look to the ceiling. “Well, you know, maybe we should make some kind of adventure world. It does sound pretty fun.” She looked back to Didsy with a grin. “I’ll get back to you on that.”

“Okay.” She didn’t really feel the need to go on a violent quest or anything, but maybe someday joining with an adventuring party, like the heroes she’d admired, would be a nice way to fulfill her old desires.

“Oh, one more thing, though.” Lettie’s grin widened, and she winked at her. “An additional condition to your multi-magus status: you can learn and use any type of magic from the Worlds, but to use any magic outside of its native world, you’ll need to draw upon your own personal pool of mana. And the only way you can recharge that mana will be through sex.”

Didsy blinked. “Mana from... sex...?” She suddenly remembered who, and specifically what, she was talking to. “Oh. Right. Of course.”

Lettie giggled, and slugged back the last of her canned tea. Didsy dutifully finished her own cup, and set it down. Lettie got up and leaned down over the rabbit-eared demihuman, putting a hand on her shoulder. “Wherever you go, whatever you do, don’t forget to have fun!” Then she gave her a deep kiss on the lips.

Didsy swooned, and her world went softly dark. When she next opened her eyes, she would find herself in another world, with everything she needed to start off her new life’s adventure.
